LPN Scrub Nurse - Operating Room

Lowell General Hospital seeks an entry-level LPN Scrub Nurse for the Operating Room. Practice under the supervision of the surgical team to deliver patient care throughout the perioperative experience. Assist the surgeon by providing instruments and maintaining organized operating room equipment.

Scrub on a wide variety of surgical procedures while maintaining strict aseptic technique during setup, patient draping, and surgery. Organize instrumentation, participate in surgical counts, and select appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment. Perform related activities under the direction of the surgeon and Registered Nurse.

Perform all counts with the RN circulator, manage medications on the sterile field, and handle surgical specimens per policy. Assist in patient positioning, moving, transporting, and room turnover activities. Report equipment and supply problems to the Charge Nurse or Clinical Manager.

Work cooperatively within the department to create quality health care. Participate in Operating Room activities for quality improvement, performance improvement, continuing education, and emergency preparedness.
