About this role

The Medical Associates team is seeking an energetic LPN or RN to join as an Employee Health Nurse. You’ll partner closely with Tri-State Occupational Health and Human Resources to support employee health, safety, and well-being across all locations. This role applies clinical expertise in employee health, safety, infection control, and workers’ compensation.

Coordinate care and determine safe return-to-work plans for employees with work-related injuries, illnesses, or exposures. Administer and manage employee immunization programs and occupational health screenings for OSHA/CDC/NIOSH compliance. Support safety and infection control initiatives through training, inspections, and policy development.

Oversee the Hazard Communication program including SDS database maintenance. Participate in and lead Safety and Infection Control Committees with meeting coordination, reporting, and policy updates. Conduct ergonomic assessments, incident investigations, and follow-up tracking while based primarily at Tri-State Occupational Health with travel.

Monitor trends in workplace injuries and illnesses to support continuous improvement efforts. Stay current on evolving occupational health regulations and help implement new programs and policies. Requirements

  • LPN or RN licensure
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, NIOSH, and Iowa OSHA standards
  • Experience managing work-related injuries, illnesses, and return-to-work plans
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation regulations and reporting
  • Proficiency in safety data sheets (SDS) management and HazCom programs
  • Ability to conduct ergonomic evaluations and department inspections
  • Skills in infection control surveillance and committee leadership

Responsibilities

  • Monday–Friday schedule, 4–4.5 days/week with flex up to 5 days during peak periods
