About this role

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides professional, comprehensive specialized psychiatric nursing services with emphasis on prevention of disease and promotion of health. All PMHNPs receive a ten percent (10%) additional premium. They establish a therapeutic relationship with a diversity of patients.

Deliver clinical care, create shared care plans, and provide education and resources within the Health Department that best meet the client's needs and health goals. Determine diagnosis and treat acute and chronic conditions. Leverage the resources and skills of an interdisciplinary health care team to improve or maintain health status.

Requirements

  • Certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Oregon Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority
  • DEA registration for controlled substances
  • Experience providing psychiatric care to diverse populations
  • Ability to diagnose and manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
  • Skills in therapeutic relationship building and client education
  • Knowledge of health equity and culturally responsive care
