About this role

In collaboration with a designated physician, conduct intakes, assessments, and furnish medication management following established standards. Review and analyze participant records to evaluate psychotropic drug usage and care quality. Services occur fully in the community at homes or other locations.
The program supports clients with medication, housing, vocational, independent living, and mental health needs. Expect service intensity of about 10 hours per month per client. Work involves driving home-to-home, community client interactions, and transporting clients in personal vehicles.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited university
- Completed an approved Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program with an Adult, Child, or Family focus
- Two years of experience working with children (6+ years) and adults diagnosed with mental health conditions
- Current certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (preferred)
- Current DEA License for the furnishing of psychotropic medications
- Valid California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance
- Driving record that meets the company driver's eligibility policy
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient psychiatric care including intakes and assessments
- Furnish and provide medication management following established standards and practices
- Review and analyze participant records to evaluate psychotropic drug usage
- Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of mental health participant care
- Collaborate with a designated physician on psychiatric services
- Conduct home visits and work with clients in the community
- Transport clients in personal vehicles as needed
