About this role
PM Pediatric Care seeks a psychiatric nurse practitioner experienced in adolescent and adult behavioral health for its virtual Behavioral Health Program. This remote role delivers comprehensive psychopharmacology support for conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, and mood disorders through extended virtual care. Part-time (20 hours per week) and full-time positions are benefits eligible.
In daily practice, conduct patient histories, initial evaluations, and assessments using evidence-based medicine for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients. Diagnose mental and behavioral health disorders, formulate differential diagnoses, and demonstrate clinical judgment following established guidelines. Prescribe medications, provide medication management and counseling, and educate patients and parents on side effects, risks, benefits, and usage.
Collaborate closely with the virtual behavioral health team, therapists, medical leadership, and primary care physicians to develop and communicate treatment plans. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, modify plans based on re-assessments and screening tools, and ensure thorough documentation in the electronic medical record. Work with the healthcare team to educate patients on their medical care.
Continually update clinical knowledge through consultation, education, and literature review to benefit self and the team. Provide appropriate referrals when necessary. Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus in this dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Experience in adolescent and adult behavioral health needs
- Experience in psychopharmacology
- Psychiatric nurse practitioner licensure
- Ability to formulate differential diagnoses for mental health disorders
- Clinical judgment following evidence-based guidelines
- Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the virtual behavioral health team, providing patient services using evidence-based medicine
- Diagnose and assess mental/behavioral health disorders for pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients; formulate differential diagnoses
- Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgement in assessment and treatment, following established clinical care guidelines
- Collaborate and communicate with therapist team and medical leadership to discuss patient treatment plans
