The James Clinical Call Center Triage RN acts as the primary responder managing telephone calls for established James patients within the Ohio Board of Registered Nursing scope. They conduct initial call assessments and triage based on findings. Established triage algorithms guide assessments and required interventions.

Nurses document all assessments and call management in the organizational electronic medical record. They follow up on post-discharge or post-procedure calls needing additional intervention after initial handling. This ensures comprehensive patient care continuity.

The role supports James scheduling staff as a clinical resource for referral-based needs. Work occurs in the James Outpatient Care setting with varying shifts across 40 scheduled hours. It focuses on oncology continuing care triage in a clinical call center environment.

This position offers involvement in specialized oncology telephone triage and patient management. Nurses contribute to resolving complex post-care calls while adhering to nursing standards. Opportunities align with preferred oncology certification and telephone experience.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing from CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program
  • Current Ohio license or interim permit
  • Experience in relevant care setting preferred
  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred
  • Experience in telephone assessment and management preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage telephone calls within defined scope of practice for established James patients
  • Complete initial call assessment and triage the call based on assessment
  • Use established triage algorithms to guide assessment and interventions
  • Document assessment and management of the call into electronic medical record
  • Follow up and assist in resolving post-discharge or post-procedure calls requiring additional intervention
