About this role

The Urgent Care Nurse Manager provides professional nursing care and support for patients receiving treatments, examinations, and evaluations. This role involves general management of the Urgent Care Facility, including day-to-day management, coordination of care, staffing, performance improvement, and operational flow.

Coordinates care for patients in the Urgi-care setting to ensure office operations conform to principles of good clinical care. Monitors office systems that promote customer service, satisfaction, and center efficiency. Assists in providing nursing care under physician supervision, including triage, patient evaluation, vital signs, and chart documentation.

Directly supervises Urgent Care Center employees, handling interviewing, training, scheduling, performance appraisals, and conflict resolution. Ensures staff delivers quality safe care according to current standards for procedures, treatments, and medications. Oversees staff documentation per entity and department guidelines.

Maintains medical records, ensures compliance with policies, and assists in preparation for utilization review. Coordinates billing operations and oversees administrative tasks like call handling, mail, and purchasing equipment for daily operations. Fosters an environment of efficient, customer-friendly service.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Experience in urgent care nursing and patient triage
  • Supervisory experience in healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of nursing process including assessment and evaluation
  • Proficiency in vital signs monitoring and medical history documentation
  • Familiarity with medical record keeping and compliance standards
  • Ability to manage staffing, scheduling, and performance improvement
  • Understanding of billing operations and customer service in clinical environments

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate care for patients in the Urgi-care setting and ensure office operations conform to principles of good clinical care
  • Directly supervise employees of the Urgent Care Center, including interviewing, training, scheduling, performance appraisals, and resolving conflicts
  • Provide professional nursing care and support for center patients through assessment, evaluation, and maintaining nursing standards
  • Triage and evaluate patients, obtain major complaints, brief medical history, vital signs, and complete chart documentation
  • Ensure staff provides quality safe care according to current standards for procedures, treatments, and medications
  • Oversee maintenance, filing, and compliance of administrative and patient records
  • Coordinate and monitor billing operations
  • Handle incoming calls efficiently, manage messaging, and oversee daily mail operations
