About this role
The Critical Care Nurse 3 provides advanced-level nursing care in the assigned unit. They support operational processes by maintaining high standards of patient care. Responsibilities include resolving complex clinical issues, mentoring intermediate-level nurses, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team for efficient care delivery.
Day-to-day duties focus on delivering high-quality nursing care for complex cases. Nurses utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care from admission through discharge. They provide patient and family education respecting privacy, dignity, preferences, and culture.
In the team environment, they assist in managing workflow and resource utilization while precepting new hires and trainees. They respond promptly to emergencies using clinical skills, critical thinking, and evidence-based practices. Performance includes a wide range of procedures ensuring patient safety and a clean environment.
Growth opportunities involve strategic contributions to improve nursing practices, develop protocols for safety and efficiency, and pursue high staff engagement and patient experience. They achieve Clinical Advancement Program requirements with 20 points in at least four categories per 12-month cycle. Support for the JHAH nursing Professional Practice Model empowers nurses.
Requirements
- 3 years International Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- Current licensure as a professional registered nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum 4 years of Nursing Experience including 2 years in Critical Care or related field
- English: Fully Proficient; Arabic: Preferred
- Complete the required unit-based critical care competencies
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care services focusing on complex cases
- Assist in managing workflow ensuring proper resource utilization and providing mentorship to junior nurses
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and participate in the evaluation of patient outcomes
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care from admission through discharge
- Provide nursing care and patient/family education consistent with the plan of care
- Precept new hires and trainees during the probation training period
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency and life-saving situations
- Perform a wide range of nursing procedures with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort
