About this role
Children's Nebraska is seeking highly motivated Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to join the Neonatal Critical Care Transport Fellowship Program. This 12-month, full-time postgraduate training prepares fellows for independent practice in high-acuity neonatal transport. It focuses on stabilization and management of critically ill neonates requiring interfacility transfer.
The immersive fellowship integrates clinical experience, structured didactics, simulation, and transport operations training. Fellows gain comprehensive training in ground, rotor-wing, and fixed-wing transport. This occurs within a leading pediatric health system.
Training emphasizes assessment, diagnosis, and management of neonatal conditions during transport. Fellows build expertise in transport medicine, aviation physiology, operational safety, and crew resource management. Procedural proficiency enhances in high-risk, time-sensitive scenarios.
Upon completion, fellows deliver evidence-based care across the continuum of neonatal transport, from resuscitation to interfacility transfer in controlled and austere environments. The curriculum covers air medical physiology, effects of flight stressors, aircraft systems, and scene operations. This equips practitioners for optimized neonatal outcomes.
