About this role

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our care teams by providing high-quality and cost-effective care to our patients. We are seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to practice alongside other Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and NICU Hospitalists. Services are provided at two recently expanded locations.

Attend high risk deliveries and provide medical management as a member of our multi-disciplinary group. Provide transport for babies with our Medflight Peds/Neo Team, with flying strongly encouraged. Perform routine clinical procedures independently including resuscitation and stabilization of newborns.

Work at UnityPoint Health-Meriter, a 42-bed Level III NICU, and American Family Children’s Hospital, a 26-bed Level IV NICU. Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program
  • Two (2) years of relevant NICU experience preferred
  • State of Wisconsin NP license
  • Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice
  • Active board certification as a NP in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner clinical practice
  • Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
  • Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice including Wisconsin

Responsibilities

  • Practice alongside other Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and NICU Hospitalists to provide services at two recently expanded NICU locations
  • Attend high risk deliveries and provide medical management as a member of our multi-disciplinary group
  • Provide transport for babies with our Medflight Peds/Neo Team with flying strongly encouraged
  • Perform routine clinical procedures independently including resuscitation and stabilization of newborn
  • Place endotracheal tubes/intubate, insert PICC lines, umbilical catheters (arterial/venous), peripheral arterial lines
  • Insert and remove chest tubes, perform thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, double or partial volume exchange transfusion
  • Conduct neonatal transport
